I was born in Dublin, Ireland and surrounded by artistic people throughout my childhood. My Father had been an artist apprenticed to a monk specialising in ornamental celtic work before turning to photography and silk screen printing. My mother was a dancer, choregorapher and director which influenced me in choosing to major in Theatre Design at the National College of Art and Design. Although I have worked at other things I was destined to dedicate my life to art.
My inspiration comes from nature, life experiances and the romantic side of my personality. Living in the intense sunshine of The Canary Islands in the early '90s changed my perception of colour which can now be seen in the vibrancy of my images. During this time Cezar Manrique's volcanic paintings made quite an impression on me and at times I can still see his influence in my work.
